Published on the 10th anniversary of Yemen’s National Day, May 22, 2000, this book is a tribute to the formation of the modern Yemen, forged through the unification of the former Yemen Arab Republic (North Yemen) and People’s Democratic Republic of Yemen (South Yemen) in 1990.

As a historical reference, this book tracks the political developments of the 1970s and 1980s that led to the unification of Yemen, and also reprints the congratulations of world leaders in the year 2000 ranging from US President Bill Clinton to the late Palestinian President Yasser Arafat.
