Sama Airlines, the newest low-fare carrier in Saudi Arabia, has added Yemen to its list of destinations and will soon begin operate flights to Sana’a, Aden and Mukalla. The move is in response to the increased traffic business between Yemen and Saudi Arabia and will help travelers to travel more at less cost.
Tofik al-Nihmy the Managing Director of Apollo Travel Co. Ltd, along with Kevin Steele, the Director of Sales at Sama, were joined by travel agents, business leaders and the media at the presentation of Sama Airlines in Yemen.
The presentation was conducted by Steele, who welcomed all the guests for their interest in learning about the newest low-fare airline in the region.
“As part of Sama’s preparation for the next summer season, we are pleased to have today’s presentation for your general understanding. Sama flies to 13 domestic destinations (Dammam, Riyadh, Jeddah, Madinah, Abha, Jizan, Hail, Arar, Jouf, Tabouk, Rafha, and Bisha) and 10 international destinations across the Middle East, including Abu-Dhabi, Sharjah, Amman, Damascus, Latakia, Aleppo, Beirut, Alexandria, Assiut and Sharm el Sheikh. Sama offers various ways of booking, such as the website, flysama.com” said Steele.
He also described the various options for paying: cash, credit card, or other facilities. ”The airlines will provide options for accommodation in several hotels with discounted and competitive low-prices to those who book on-line,” said Steele.
Tofik al-Nihmy, Managing Director of Apollo Travel, Sama’s sole agent in Yemen, told the crowd: “We are happy to bring Sama Airlines to three major cities in Yemen. The economy has changed and the Yemeni immigrants in Saudi Arabia will have the chance to visit their families whenever they like due to the good number of flights that will come to Sana’a, Aden and Mukalla. I am quite optimistic about Sama’s operations in Yemen.
After the presentation, the airline representatives took questions from the press, after which, all were invited to a dinner reception where there was a raffle drawing and many in attendance won free Sama tickets and other prizes.
