The total number of loans granted by SEDF during 2007 reached YR 1.181 billion, for 1.421 loans, only 90 of them for women worth YR 21 million.

The Small Enterprises Development Fund (SEDF) financed 366 projects during the first quarter of 2008 worth a total of YR 270 million, compared with 281 projects at a cost of YR159 million during the same period of 2007, according to an official report issued by SEDF.
These projects employed more than 492 workers, 11 of whom were women, while the total number of beneficiaries of these loans reached to 2.952 workers. Males were awarded 347 loans, worth YR 266 million, and women obtained 19 loans worth YR 4 million.
Taiz governorate received most of the loans provided to males by the Fund. The Taiz branch provided 100 loans amounting to YR 88 million. Sana'a governorate ranked second, providing 83 loans for a total amount of YR 75 million.
Around 35 loans were provided by the Aden branch, amounting to YR 29 million. Then Al-Mukalla governorate provided 41 loans for an amount of YR 27million. The Ibb governorate branch ranked last, providing 38 loans worth YR 17 million. The SEDF financed small projects in the industrial, service and commercial sectors.
In terms of financing female enterprises by SEDF, Aden governorate ranked first with 11 loans worth YR 2 million. Coming in second, al-Mukalla awarded 2 loans totaling YR 1.2 million. Two loans worth YR 500,000 were given in Sana'a governorate, 2 loans amounting YR 370,000 in Taiz governorate and 2 loans worth YR 350,000 in al-Hodeida, in last place. The total number of loans granted by SEDF during 2007 reached YR 1.181 billion, for 1.421 loans, 90 of them for women worth YR 21 million.
In addition to funding projects, the SEDF provides specialized consultation services in order to improve business performance and enhance competitiveness.
