SANA’A, Aug. 17 (Saba) - The Japanese Government gifted Dammar governorate about $134,000 to improve the water supply system in al-Kaina’ei area.
The grant presented by the Japanese Ambassador Masakazu Toshikage aims to provide the area’s inhabitants with safe drinking water and to alleviate the women and children’s suffering from fetching water from remote wells. In addition it aims to improve the health condition of al-Kaina’ei area, in general.
It is estimated that around 3,000 people from Manar district will benefit from this gift. During the three past years, the government of Japan has financed about 54 small-scale community-based projects amounting to $4.5 million in domains of primary health care, basic education and water supply in rural areas.
