Yemen partakes in WB, IMF annual meetings

Yemen participated in the annual meetings of the World Bank (WB) and International Monetary Fund (IMF), held in Washington from October 5-6 2008. 

Yemen's delegation was headed by Deputy Prime Minister for Economic Affairs, Minister of Planning and International Cooperation Abdul-Karim al-Arhabi. 

The meetings discussed a number of issues related to means for developing work mechanisms within the two world institutions in line with the developmental needs for member countries. 

On the sidelines of the conference, al-Arhabi will hold meetings with a large number of senior officials of the WB and the IMF, and representatives of donor institutions to discuss the means of reinforcing current cooperation between Yemen and those institutions.
