The Yemeni Standardization and Quality Control Organization (YSQCO) and the Yemen Society for Consumer Protection (YSCP) agreed on cooperation measurs to protect consumers.
The agreement was signed by Eng. Ahmed al-Bisha, General Director of YSQCO and Mahmoud al-Nageab, General Secretary of YSCP last week.
The agreement conforms to the roles of both bodies. The YSQCO is a governmental authority while the YSCP is a non governmental organization (NGO), according to the agreement text.
The YSQCO believes that supporting the YSCP technically as well as examining the samples offered by YSCP strengthens its role of protecting consumers.
The YSQCO works on informing the YSCP with its activities related to circulating goods in the market, according to the agreement.
The both bodies will work together on awareness activities and field campaigns implemented by them. The two bodies confirmed they would exchange information related to consumer protection activities in order to unify efforts to create efficient consumer protection, according to the agreement.
