Yemen Industrial survey to be implemented

A supervisory committee of the Industrial Survey discussed the timetable for implementing a comprehensive industrial survey during 2009-2010, in its first meeting on Saturday.

The committee, which is chaired by Minister of Industry and Trade Yahya al-Mutawakel, reviewed stages of implementing the survey which contains two phases: the first is to prepare and update the comprehensive industrial survey during the current year, while the other is the actual implementation and analysis of the survey results in 2010.

The committee discussed the decision of the minister to form a technical committee to renew industrial facilities as well as to implement the comprehensive industrial survey and tasks to be undertaken by the committee.

At the meeting, al-Mutawakel stressed the importance of the survey to set up industrial views in Yemen and to prepare a list of investment opportunities to integrate with the existing industries.

The minister also urged the technical committee to complete their work under the schedule previously established.
