Higher Education and Scientific Research Minister Saleh ba-Soura has said that the ministry supports Yemeni students abroad at an annual cost of $45 million. These scholarships seek to promote learning abroad as well as provide incentive at home.  Ba-Soura called on the high school departments to pay additional attention to computer applications and English language courses, as he confirmed the ministry’s readiness to pay the students growing expenses in these academic fields.

The three highest scores within the literary section of national testing will receive full scholarships abroad, whereas the next seven highest results would receive internal scholarships to available programs within Yemen.
