Deputy Minister of Planning and International Cooperation Hisham Sharaf indicated on Tuesday that six finance agreements will be potentially signed at the closure of meetings of the Preparatory Committee for the Yemeni-Saudi Coordination Council session.
He added that the six agreements come within the context of former Saudi grants to Yemen, including roads, electricity, education and vocational training sectors.
Sharaf, who chairs the Yemeni delegation at the committee meetings, which began on Tuesday in the Saudi capital of Riyadh, confirmed that the committee would discuss health, education and electrical cooperation between the two countries, as well as the facilitation of trade streamlining. Furthermore, the meetings will also address the encouragement of joint investments, especially the investment of Saudi capital within Yemen.
The committee intends to complete the preparation of issues and documents for the Yemeni-Saudi Coordination Council’s meeting scheduled for February 27. The Coordination Council’s meeting will be co-chaired by Prime Minister Ali Mujawar and the Saudi Crown Prince Sultan Bin Abdul Aziz.
On Tuesday, Sharaf left Sana’a for Riyadh on Tuesday, along with his accompanying delegation to participate in the meetings of the Preparatory Committee for the Yemeni-Saudi Coordination Council session.
