Japan to support Yemen’s bid to join WTO

Yemen and Japan have continued to pursue talks in Sana’a focused on mutual economic ties.
 
During his meeting with the Japanese ambassador in Yemen, Mitsuo Nouri Nampa, on Monday, Minister of Industry and Trade Yahya al-Mutawakil discussed recent Yemeni efforts to develop the trade and industrial sectors.
 
The issue of Yemen’s accession into the WTO was raised during the course of the bilateral meetings, with the minister renewing Yemen’s request for further Japanese flexibility, particularly on negotiations for Yemeni goods within global markets.
 
Japan’s ambassador assured the nation’s support for the Yemeni move and is ready to continue negotiations with Yemen in order to enable it to join the WTO.
