Official talks between the Yemeni government and the International Monetary Fund (IMF) were concluded in Sana’a on Saturday.

The Minister of Planning and International Cooperation Abdul Karim al-Arhabi chaired the meetings. The talks dealt with a number of specific issues relating to the direction of cooperation between Yemen and the IMF, especially in regards to supporting the governments efforts aimed at enhancing financial reforms.

The two sides agreed to complete the gradual implementation of memorandum decisions, from the program of joint cooperation between the government and the Fund, by the start of spring meetings with the World Bank and the IMF in Washington D.C.

Al-Arhabi confirmed the Yemeni government’s keenness to continue to implement the reforms. Specifically, the government is aiming to promote the performance and efficiency of financial administration in Yemen, noting the IMF’s contributions to support governmental efforts in this regard.
