Malaysian-Yemeni Exhibition opens

The largest ever Yemeni-Malaysian Exhibition opened on Wednesday, in the capital of Sana’a.

The exhibition was inaugurated by Prime Minister Ali Mujawar on Wednesday in Sana’a’s Expo Center and included the participation of over 100 Malaysian firms.

Chairman of the General Investment Authority (GIA) Salah al-Attar explained that the exhibition represents an opportunity to enhance trade ties between the two countries thought accessible bilateral discussions among Yemeni and Malaysian businessmen.

For his part, Ali al-Atas, the Chairman of the Malay Chamber of Commerce said that the exhibition represented a figurative “main gate,” through which Malaysian services and products are able to enter the Yemeni market, all while Yemen is able to display the diversity of investment opportunities in this country.

According to 2008 statistics, investments between Yemen and Malaysia rose from $47.7 million in 1990 to $401.8 million in 2008.
