An armed group in al-Mansoura Directorate in Aden, robbed about YR 5 million from a Commercial Bank earlier this week, underscoring the new level of lawlessness in the region.
Eye witnesses told the press that a vehicle belonging to the Commercial Bank, which provided cash for all ATMs in Mansoura fell under attack when unknown gunmen storm the scene, forcing bank employees to hand out the cash at gunpoint. The men had removed the ID plate from their vehicle as to not get spotted by the Police in case of a chase.
Several Commercial Banks in Aden have been exposed to armed robberies, while the security forces in the governorate had not been able to discover or catch these groups so far.
