The cabinet agreed in its meeting on Tuesday on the funding treaty for supporting institutional reform policies, signed between the government and the International Development Association (IDA) on March 16, 2008. The completion of necessary constitutional procedures, as directed by the cabinet, is needed to finalize the approval of the treaty.
The cabinet then agreed on a memo of understanding, signed between Yemen and Spain in January of this year, regarding technical and vocational education. Also referred was a fishing draft agreement for Yemen’s regional waters, the Arabian Sea and the Gulf of Aden, and an equivalent agreement for fishing in the Red Sea which was presented by the Ministry of Fisheries and Wealth.
The government remitted eight oil treaties signed between the Ministry of Oil and Minerals and a number of oil companies in order for Parliament to complete constitutional measures needed for final approval of these treaties.
These treaties, which represent the fifth generation of stylistic treaties for participation in production, include the best economic conditions serving the interest of the country in addition to gas exploitation. Also included were environmental concerns regarding exploration and production activities.
