Two poets, the Yemeni Sultan Mujali and the emirate Ali al-Khoar, conducted a poetic readings, organized by Bait al-Thaqafa, by Bait al-Shi’r al-Yemeni. The concert was under the title, “Brotherly Innovation Bridges between Yemen and Emirates.”
Dr. Abdul-Aziz al-Maqaleh, the president’s cultural advisor, and Yahiya Mohammed Abdullah Saleh attended the reading where the poets recited their descriptive and eulogy poetry.
They also demonstrated the aesthetics of their Nabati poetry, of which the two poets are considered to be pioneers.
At the end of the concert, Mohammed Abo Bakr al-Maflahi gave a closing speech, lauding the two poets’ experience and distinction. Alwan Mahadi then concluded the concert with one last reading.
In his speech, the Bait al-Shi’r’s manager Abdua-Salam al-Kibsi, told of the influence of Yemeni songs on Arabia, particularly on their impact on the gulf singing, turning attention to the important characters and features of the Nabati poetry.
The Omah press site editor Abdul-Nasser Mujali, spoke on the dismissing the role of literature as being one of the important dialogue channels.
Also at the reading, another poet Ali al-Dubaie read the Bait al-Shi’r’s statement for honoring the two poets Mujali and al-Khoar for their role in the emirates and gulf poetry.
In a related issue, Bait al-Shi’r al-Yemeni will hold next Thursday Dr. Sultan al-Surimi’s second round from April- June 2008, under the slogan of the real poet’s distinction is on concerning oneself over people’s worries.
