Al-Amanah' East Court issued last  Monday a sentence against the three suspects who accused of smuggling the Bernzi statue of a dancing lady. The sentence was eight months of imprisonment and a fine of one hundred thousand Yemeni Riyals for each one of them.

The Judge Abdul-Aziz Numan al-Jarash chaired the court who accused three suspects of smuggling the Bernzi statue of a dancing lady based on a rectangle containing some writings in Al-Mousnad handwriting.

The sentence included commend to the competent authorities to restore the smuggling statue.

The Director-General of Saving the Antiquities at the General Authority for Antiquities Mr. Hisham al-Thawr said to the Yemen News Agency (SABA) that the statue is considered as one of the rarest and most beautiful statues that found till the recent days.

He added that the smuggling process started when the brokers try to smuggle the statue through the road of the United Arab Emirates by the help of one of the trailers owners who works for some foreign oil companies operating in Yemen.

He explained that the statue is originally from Al-Jawf' rare artifacts and it was in the possession of a Yemeni citizen who unfortunately sold it for fourteen million Yemeni riyals after bargaining twenty million riyals.

The three Yemeni accusers are the seller, the buyer and the mediator
