Sometimes, life takes a woman away from seeking and realizing a professional career, in term of being a housewife or feeling stuck in the same position at her workplace. Life slowly would be all about family life or about dealing with the same routine in the same position for many years. Even a single lady and still starting the road into career path, a girl could feel lost and have a unclear sight of what she truly wants to achieve in this life. In all cases, it’s not easy but completely possible to catch up a life with intellectual meaning, even if a woman is a housewife. It’s possible to climb success ladder at workplace for a working woman and it’s possible for a young lady to know exactly what to achieve and realize her ambitions. However, true support that would fully equip a female with the needed knowledge and skills is extremely crucial.
Impact institution, sponsored by the British Council, authorized by Springboard Consultancy Company in the UK, and in partnership with Ms. Khadija al-Sarhi, Springboard program’s trainer and consultant, launched Springboard program for 20 ladies, providing them a top quality of women’s development training, last Thursday. The program is an international one that covered 28 countries around the world. It’s specially designed to develop women’s skills, personally or\and professionally.
Ladies at the program come from different walks of life, with different goals. There are working and not working ladies, but all have the intention to secure a progress in their life as a result of this program. Essentially, the program aims to provide women an extra spark in making a difference for them and for people around them on personal or professional level. What distinguishes the program is its nature in boosting women’s inner personal skills not developing their management skills. That makes the program to be one of the most flexible and realistic programs. The trainee ladies chose the program because it’s the right place for any woman who is seeking personal development and brighter future to start with. It’s the starting point to realize ambitions and goals. It energizes women’s professional skills, invigorate their professional’s network and ignite passion in others. It consists of practical and interactive workshops.

Another remarkable trait in the program is it consists of sharing true success stories of women who are currently distinguished leaders in society and who made and still make a difference in community. At launching the program, Ms. Hooria Mashour, Deputy Chairperson of Women National Committee attended the first session. Her presence represented several points. Firstly, it showed how female leaders are concern about women’s development in general. Secondly, the trainees had an everlasting dose of motivation to do what they want to achieve. It also revealed to the trainees that being advanced is an attainable goal. Ms. Mashour shared her success story and how she began and still continue in her career. She expressed the significance of women’s development to be the whole society’s development. “Women in Yemen consist around %50 of the population and naturally any insufficiency in women’s life; it will impact the whole society’s growth. Women must be empowered so the whole society could have the chance to be fully empowered.” By the end of the program, the ladies expect more empowerment and advancement in their inner state which will inevitably reflect in their real life. “Throughout the program and by the end of it, I want to be more expressive about my issues and more determined of what I want to accomplish. I think if I know myself more, I could succeed in my job and my life,” said Najla Hassen, one of the trainees. Another trainee also said, “I hope to be more decisive and more confident in my life as a result of my participation in the program. I thinks it’s the starting point for my success in my practical and personal life,” said Eiman Mohammed.
