Under the Adventist Development and Relief Agency organization’s (ADRA) frame work, SUR Center held the first annual festival for refugee children, last Sunday at al-Sabaen park in Sana’a. The festival aimed to celebrate the children’s different cultures from Somalia, Ethiopia, and Yemen as it included featuring games, performances, songs and photos exhibition. The children were from age 3 to17 years old. The activities were fully done by the center’s children.

This event is considered as the center’s most significant achievement that has been done in cooperation with ADRA organization; working on providing humanitarian relief and welfare regardless of ethnic, political or religious association. ADRA also works on providing services to refugees and tackles their issues. It aims to develop refugees’ life skills in order to inaugurate them into the society.  ADRA was established in Yemen in 1995 as a representative of the mother organization, international ADRA and since then the organization has done many programs, aiming to cater to refugees’ issues in Sana’a, Aden, al-Hudaidah, al-Jof and Sa’adah governorates.
