Not safe palce to play.

A bomb exploded in the Old City of Sana’a near the Sa’ilah on Sunday afternoon, killing one child and injuring another, said the Ministry of the Interior. Ayoub Thabit was killed and his friend Hussein Lahib was seriously injured as they played in the streets next to the bomb, which was hidden in a cardboard box. “This act is meant to spread horror in Yemen,” said Sadiq al-Haddi, the head of the operation unit in the Ministry of Interior Affairs.
However, a number of suspects has been arrested and interrogated, he said. The suspects are followers of the Shiite rebel Abdul-Malik al-Houthi, said al-Haddi. “They did this to get revenge and also to dissolve the unity among Yemenis,” he said. The Houthi group did this during the Yemenis national celebration, because they think it is easy to do that. “The Houthi people do not respect traditions or customs,” he said.
The rebels hope to sabotage lasting security in Yemen, especially in periods of celebrations like this one. This year, the unity celebrations are focused in Ibb, so the rebels might believe that Sana’a has been left unprotected by security.
Al-Haddi believes that this criminal act is due to the feeling of defeat by the Houthis. “The national security and the honorable citizens of Sa’ada governorate have choked them,” he said. The ministry will pursue the perpetrators and put them on trial, he said.
The ministry denounced the bombing as a cowardly act of terror, asserting that the perpetrators would not go unpunished and would be tracked down and brought to justice. The security apparatus will face anybody wishing to meddle with the security of the homeland and citizens of Yemen. However, no one has been captured, said Ahmed al-Sunaidar, the manger of the Minster’s office. “Investigations are still going on, and if there are results they will be revealed later.”
