Exclusive- In response to the press reports published by the British media over the death of the Norwegian student that was found dead in London through the weekend, a spokesman for the Haq family whose son was among those who were with her before the incident. The source of the family said that they are aware of the press reports and are very concerned about the fate of their son and are awaiting further information to make it clear that they would not associate themselves with any member of their family connected with any wrongdoing.

Any loss of life is tragic and the family send their feelings and deep condolences to the Magnussen family and friends whatever the cause of these unfortunate events.

The reports said the twenty-three-year-old student, Martine Magnussen, was found dead in a rubbish spillway near an apartment rented by Farooq Abdul-Haq and two others and that the London Metropolitan Police wish to question a number of people including Farouk Abdul-Haq, son of a prominent Yemeni businessman.

Sources said that Farouk was one of the people with whom she partied in the evening before her death. Parts of the British press described her as a socialite but her family and friends say she was “thoughtful and kind, with a great future ahead of her”.
