A carnival marking the beginning of Sana’a Tourist Summer Festival started from Bab al-Yemen to al-Sabein Park. The festival will continue from July 17 to August 17.

“We launched today the third edition of this Festival, by this carnival which contains models of the tourist institutions in the capital. They represent tourist agencies, restaurants, hotels, boy scouts organizations, traditional clothes, al-Zaraniq band, the Japanese and Egyptian folklore bands,” said Fatima al-Horibi, general manager of the Capital Tourist Office.

Al-Horibi said that the festival will continue for a month in al-Sabein Park. Debates will be held at al-Sabein park addressing tourism environmental elements, tourist security, tourist investment, children paintings, folk’s society’s artifact’s market and issues regarding tourism.

“There are local agencies which represent international tourism agencies,” said al-Horibi when asked about the participation of international tourist agencies. “The Festival’s aim is to promote Yemeni tourist components and infrastructure, and to encourage others to come for tourism investment in Yemen,” said al-Horibi.
