The National Metrological Center said that analysis of satellite images, weather maps and numerical forecasts, indicate that dense water vapor from the Indian ocean and the Arabian sea is flowing towards the governorates of Hadhramout, Shabwa, Marib, Abian, al-Baidha, al-Dalie, Lahj, Ibb, Taiz, Thamar, Raimah, Sana’a and Sa’adah. They warned of climatic changes accompanied by flash floods and landslides in wadis and plains, warning people to keep away from all wadis.
The metrological bulletin, issued by the Civil Aviation and Meteorology Authority, warned fishermen and ship owners of bad sea weather and poor visibility.
The Meteorological Center explained that there is an eastern tropical jet air current (i-t-c-z), which increases opportunities of bad sea weather in the next 48 hours. It also warned of poor visibility and landslides on the mountainous roots.
The center expected a range of medium to little rainfall, accompanied with thunderstorms on all the mentioned governorates, which may extend to coastal areas. The center also expects troubled open sea conditions because of the jet air current closeness to the water surface, with the expectations of waves to range from four to six meters, with Socotra to be the most affected area.
