President Ali Abdullah Saleh promised to catch all terrorists from their locations and bring them to justice. He ordered security forces to be on a sate of high alert and continue efforts in fighting terror, highlighting great successes achieved by security apparatus in fighting terror and organized crime.
“Security forces cannot stop the terrorist from death because he has already decided to die,” said the President in a speech he delivered in the cultural symposium held at Hudaidah University yesterday.
He added that terrorist works which occurred are results of false culture and bad education and that the Ministry of Education carries on their shoulders the responsibility of educating youth on Islamic ideals and the accountability lies on family supporters and youth.
“These terrorist actions are against all people, not against the political system only. They are against development, stability and Islamic religion,” he said, citing terrorist attacks that happened in the governorates of Mareb and Hadramout two years ago and of last Wednesday’s terrorist assault against US embassy in Sana’a.
He indicated that the role of political security or national security organizations is worthless if the citizen has no role in realizing stability and that every citizen wither he is scholar, intellectual, poet, politician or military and security is responsible for protecting the homeland and its security and stability.
“We hope that our youth, intellectuals and preachers will portray their message of enlightenment for facing misguided and deviant ideas via mosques, journalism, symposiums and in poetry. They have a great responsibility to enlighten our male and female youth,” he said.
He added that the terrorists have no political role and their works are against Islamic religion’s teachings. “They do not want us to deal with the west or foreign banks. What they want from us is extreme foolishness and backwardness because we are not able to manufacture our clothes, cars or ships. As an Arab nation we still need to deal with the rest of the world”.
Foreign Minister Abu Bakr al-Qirbi has revealed diplomatic works his ministry intends to do during the forthcoming period for explaining terrorist dimensions in Yemen, their effects and importance of international community’s partnership with Yemen to face these crimes.
Al-Qirbi told state-run 26 September weekly newspaper that Yemeni embassies abroad and regional and international diplomatic missions would work on an international level to explain damages affecting Yemen politically and economically because of terrorist operations and to show the government’s efforts in active participation in the international campaign against terrorism.
Al-Qirbi affirmed that Wednesday’s terrorist attack shows the importance of the international community support for providing more backing to the Yemeni security apparatus to be in continuous readiness for facing terrorist acts.
Earlier, he considered the embassy’s assault as terrorist response to the governments’ successful efforts in fighting terrorism, highlighting readiness of security forces for facing the terrorists and foiling possible attacks.
