Hundreds of Yemenis took to the streets Sunday, in angry rallies, denouncing the Israeli aggression against Gaza strip which left more than 271 dead and more than 700 injured.
Tens of thousands of people gathered at the Sana'a Sport City Stadium in a public rally to condemn Israeli aggression against Gaza.
The rally which was attended by many top officials and political figures persons, called for an immediate efficient Arab summit to stop the Israeli assault against the Gaza people and to lift the blockade in order to provide the Gaza people with rapid medical and food supplies.
The angry demonstrators expressed their rage over the criminal Israeli raids which they described as the most disgusting barbarian attack in modern history, describing the Israeli regime as the last remaining apartheid regime in today's world.
The speeches given at the rally expressed anger and grieve over the Gaza situation, holding the Arab regimes accountable for what is happening there. They called the regimes to allow their people to join the Gaza resistance, after their official failure to support the resistance militarily and the preservation of their military forces for their people repression.
Some demonstrators called the Arab governments to let the Arab youth to go to Palestine in order to fight against the Zionists, because violence is the only language that the Zionists understand.
Journalist of newsyemen reported from Hodeidah saying that thousands of people and students held rallies in the university campus, denouncing the Israeli atrocities.
On the other hand diplomatic Arab sources participating in the permanent delegation meetings said that an Arab summit is scheduled to be held next Friday in Doha to discuss the Israeli attacks against Gaza, however they said that Egypt expressed reservations.
According to media sources, the Egyptian foreign Ministry spokesman Husam Zaki said that the foreign Minister Ahmed Abo Al-Ghait made contacts with the Arab counter parts regarding an Arab League extraordinary ministerial meeting, which will consider the need for an extraordinary Arab summit.
Diplomatic sources said that an extraordinary Arab Foreign Ministers' meeting will be held next Wednesday to discuss the Israeli attack against Gaza.
Yesterday, people and government of Yemen have condemned and denounced today’s Israeli attacks against Palestinian civilians in the Gaza Strip, which have resulted in 155 dead, and more than two hundred wounded. Yemen has called on the UN Security Council to intervene in order to prevent similar attacks in the future.
The President of the Republic of Yemen, Ali Abdullah Saleh has called for an urgent Arab Summit to discuss the situation facing the Palestinians as a result of what he has described as brutal attacks by the Israelis against Palestinian citizens in the Gaza Strip, reported Saba news agency. The goal of this summit will be to develop a unified stance against the siege of Gaza, where Palestinians are deprived of their basic rights.
Official sources have said that the government is closely following developments following the Israeli attacks, which it considers cruel, while at the same time denouncing the shameful Arab and international silence regarding the situation in Gaza.
Yemen has called on the international community to play its role in stopping these atrocities, to help the Palestinians live with their basic rights, and establish an independent state with Jerusalem as its capital.
Minister of Foreign Affairs Dr.Abu Bakr al-Qirbi told al-Jazeera that the international community habitually interferes when matters at hand are in their interest, yet the international community represented by the USA, EU and the UN remain silent following this massacre.
