Security source said that the case of the journalist Abdualah Shai’a will soon be referred to public prosecutor in preparation for his trial, pending the completion of investigations.

The Security authority has accused Shai’a as being an active affiliate of al-Qaeda offering logistical support to the leadership and its members.

According to the security Shai’a offered cassettes from al-Qaeada operations in Yemen  to the media  and received money which he used to support the organization.

The security authorities also concern Shai’a as one of the most enthusiastic defenders and promoters of al-Qaeda and its operations through the satellite channels where he presents himself as an expert on al-Qaeda.

According to sources, Shai’a is one of the media supervisors of al-Qaeda who draws a number of elements to work for al-Qaeda, attracting media elements to work for the organization against what it calls international alliance.

The sources, furthermore, added that Shai’a who is related by marriage to Sheikh Abdul-Majeed al-Zandani, the President of the University of Iman made a pledge to the organization’s leader Nasser al-Wahishi (Abu Basir) during a direct and interesting press interview, also Shai’a is suspected of being closely linked with senior al-Qaeda figure, Anwar al-Awlaqi who is wanted by several local and external parties.

A letter from the family of Abdul-Elah Haidar Shai’a has asked the Attorney General’s explanation on the whereabouts of Shai’a and the reasons for detention. The family also asked permission to visit him.
