Yemen's top forty poems compete on promoting national loyality and combating terrorism and extremism on al-Aqeeq TV channel.

Al-Aqeeq channel will broadcast Tuesday the second part of the qualifying round for Yemen poet in a contest between 40 male and female poets from all over Yemen’s governorates. The public are looking forward to announcing the name of the poet who will qualify for the final phase of the program.
Al-Aqeeq channel broadcasted last Tuesday the first episode of their program “Yemen poet,” in its second phase in which five poets from Hadramout, Thamar, Taiz, Haja and al-Mahwait compete on Yemeni popular poetry.
After the first group of poets recited their poems, the programs audience started voting on them through SMS messages. The public will vote for one poet from each of the eight groups who has qualified from among 40 poets who underwent field contests.
Each poet presented two poems dealing with national allegiance, renouncing terrorism as well as investment and tourism encouragement. The episode highlighted excerpts of awareness sessions that the poets have received during their gathering in Sana’a from the Minister of Tourism and the first Deputy of Interior Minister. The episode also announced the program’s prizes for winners that will include 4WD cars and various amounts of money.
The Al-Aqeeq channel has witnessed heated contests between the fans of the five contesting poets of the first episode.
This week has seen heated competition between the Fans of the five poets competing in the first episode through the emergence of automatic direct census voting by each poet from inside and outside Yemen, and also through the chat rooms.
It is notable that “Yemen Poet” is the first interactive program in which the public can choose the winner. Eight poets will be qualified for the eight episodes that will be broadcast every Tuesday on Al-Aqeeq TV
