Yemeni businessman demands compensation

Yemeni businessman demanded compensation from the Ministry of Water and Environment accusing employees at the ministry abusing his equipment. The businessman, Qais al-Haj, the General  Manager of al-Fao establishment for trade and agencies complained to the minister of Water and Environment about an  abusive behavior of the General manager of Water and sanitation company  in Taiz.  According to his complain, Fuad al-Jabri and some of his employees have taken over the properties and the equipments of al-Fao establishment. “Our company has won a tender in 2010, based on that we imported the heavy equipments and the tankers. The diesel station alone cost over USD100,000,” said Qais al-Haj.  Al-Haj said that the equipments were used and damaged, yet there was no compensation. And by sending the complaints to the minister, the minister referred it to be taken to court house.  “This case has last very long time. And the courts are the best solution,” said eng. Abdulrahman al-Iryani, Minister of Water and Environment. He added “Two committees were sent to Taiz to investigate in this matter, and there was one mistake from our part in receiving the equipments,” According to the minister, compensation was offered but the businessman refused. “I have gave instructions to pay a compensation for him, but he is still insisting on higher value for his advantage,”
