The Turkish Ambassador to Yemen, Fazli Corman, praised the steps covered by Yemen for getting out of the current crisis, stressing that the signature of the GCC brokered initiative paved the way for a better future. He praised the new coalition government for having honored its obligations by approving the immunity law and holding the presidential elections on their scheduled time, February 21st.
The Ambassador expressed his hopes for the construction of “a better and brighter Yemen” adding that more support would be needed in the coming months and years to guarantee stabilization of the state institutions.
Mr. Corman announced , in a press conference held in Sana’a, the capital that there were ongoing preparations for holding the first Turkish medical, tourist conference, due to be held in Yemen January 28th, in which prominent international medical personalities and Turkish hospitals would participate. It is aimed at making the medical Turkish resources and expertise available in Turkey within reach of the Yemenis at competitive prices and with quality services.
“We hope that Turkey will be a destination for the Yemenis who seek medical treatment abroad, especially in light of our shared culture and history,” the ambassador said.
He further noted that the main goal was to promote humanitarian relations between the Yemeni and Turkish people.
He pointed out that Turkey provided an annual 25 free medical grants for the benefit of Yemeni patients in Turkish hospitals, explaining that the two sides were working at increasing this number to 100.
Mr. Corman emphasized that he would work during his appointment in Yemen at strengthening the ties between his country and Yemen, by attracting strategic Turkish investments to the country, especially in the fields of electric power, roads, free shops and airports.
He added the Turkey wanted to become a major ally in Yemen’s economic recovery and development.
“We hope that the cooperation between the two countries will result in a real productive change that helps Yemen in overcoming the current situation,” the ambassador said.
The ambassador mentioned that the first conference for medical tourism in Turkey will be a good opportunity for all parties to benefit from their experiences and see the latest developments in medical and treatment fields.
“Prominent medical persons and internationally famous Turkish hospitals will participate in the conference putting their medical expertise and resources within reach of the Yemeni people at competitive rates and with quality services,” the ambassador said.
The ambassador explained that the conference would allow Yemenis to familiarize themselves with the technology used in Turkey in the medical and tourism fields as well as in the service industry, highlighting the fact that Turkey was able to match Europe and the United States of America in regards to its advances in medicine, offering patients the possible best care.
The first medical tourism in Turkey conference is expected to start next Saturday in Sana’a under the auspices of the Ministers of Health and Population and Tourism and in collaboration with the Turkish Embassy, and the Turkish Travel and Medical Care Council.
Sixty of Yemen’s best doctors will take part in the conference which is organized by Business Team Partner Company, in addition to 17 Turkish doctors, amongst whom 10 are practicing in Turkey’s leading hospitals.
A number of specialized medical corporations and companies in the two countries will also participate.
The conference which comes as a further step to strengthen the Yemeni Turkish relations, aims at enhancing medical, economic and investment cooperation.
Furthermore, both partners are hoping that the conference will pave the way for new opportunities such medical lectures and seminars on chronic diseases and their treatment in Yemen and Turkey.
Finally, Turkey is looking at encouraging Yemenis to benefit from the country’s natural therapy treatment and enchanting holiday spots, making it a destination of choice for Yemenis.
