Two major investment projects funded by Qatar were stopped in Yemen amid last year political unrest. The state-run agency said that Hadi discussed with his counterpart Emir Hamad bin Khalifa al-Thani Qatari funded projects.
Al-Thani promised to support Yemen with all it needs to get out of the current situation. Political relationship between Qatar and Yemen has declined since the 2011 protest when former government accused Qatar of fueling conflicts and financing rival powers in the country.
President Hadi reviewed with his Qatari counterpart a number of developments at the Yemeni arena in light of the political settlement process in Yemen, based on the Gulf initiative and the Security Council resolution No. 2014.
Emir Hamad confirmed that Qatar will present the necessary and possible assistance to Yemen in order to come out of its current condition and for the success of the transitional phase with all its requirements.
He also gave directives to complete projects of Sheikh Khalifa medical city in Taiz city and Al Ryan residential project in the capital Sana’a as well as Hodeidah-Abyan road and the coastal round road in Aden city.
