Four police officers were killed and a dozen injured by tribesmen in Marib province this morning in retaliation for an earlier dispute.
A group of tribesmen attacked a security checkpoint at the entrance of urban Marib, killing the head of police, his deputy and two officers, a security officer said, quoting Marib police.
A dozen officers were also injured. “Reinforcement is on the way,” the officer said. “The fighting is still going on.”
The beginning of the fighting started when a police member disputed with a tribesman from Al Mut-Him tribe in al-Wadi district. The police stabbed the man with the traditional Jambyia, which made the Al Mut-Him tribe retaliate today.
The number of causalities is still likely to increase.
