Motorbike assassins kill arms dealer

An arms dealer was killed in the capital Sana'a on December 21, a security source said.

Masked men shot dead Ahmed Muhammed Daghsan in the al-Hasaba area to the north of the capital one hour before Friday prayers.

Assailants were riding a motorcycle and got away. Daghsan, 45-year old, is said to be an arms dealer from Saada province.

Investigators say the motive behind the killing is yet to unknown.

Yemen has seen a series of successful assassinations by masked men on motorcycles of senior military and security leaders amid a security breakdown.

The government has blamed Yemen based al-Qaeda for many of the attempts, but the group has remained silent.
