Three foreigners were kidnapped in the capital Sana'a on December 21 included two students studying Arabic from Finland and a tourist from Austria.

The three friends went to Tahreer Square to do some shopping earlier in the day and haven't been heard from since the news broke, said a close friend.

The two students are studying Arabic at an institute in the Old City, a close relative said. Security in Sana'a said that three foreigners were kidnapped from Tahreer Square late afternoon.

The Finnish couple were husband and wife who were accompanied by a male Austrian friend, said a fellow student.
