Government considers decreasing wheat prices

The Minister of Trade and Tndustry, Dr. Yahiya bin Yahiya al- Mutawkil, made an announcement over the government’s concern in the international trends regarding the basic commodity prices and the recent decrease in wheat prices and and implementing those trends on the local markets to alleviate the raising cost of living.

Each culture has its own way of communicating, arguing, eating, sharing, and showing affection and each tradition remains through a series of passing along the nuances, habits, and sayings for hundreds of years, with only slight variations occurring within each generation.



Two Ministers and three female candidates top governors elections list

Since the start of receiving the candidates applications for the governors elections, 132 applications were received in the different governorates, according to the Deputy Minister of Local Administration Khalied al-Akwa, More than 20 applications have been received for the post of the mayor of the capital Sana’a and more than 20 persons have been nominated for the post of the governor of Sana’a.



Al-Akwa’a appointed acting Secretary General of GPC

SNACC receives 1,710 financial disclosure declarations

The Supreme National Authority for Combating Corruption (SNACC) received 1,710 financial disclosure cases from ministers and high ranking officials from the different governmental, security, and military institutions until April 30, 2008, according to the head of the financial disclosure unit of the SNACC, Mohammed Hamoud al-Matari.


4,488 Somali and Ethiopian refugees arrive in Taiz

4,488 Somali and Ethiopian refugees arrived illegally to Taiz during the last year and the first quarter of this year, said Brigadier Yayia al-Hysami, Taiz Security Manager. About 1,013 of those refugees are female and 41 children.


Traffic accidents victims increasing in Yemen and Arab World

The number of traffic car accidents in Yemen during 2007 numbered 14, 740 and resulted in 2781 deaths with 9,148 seriously injured and 10,150 minor injuries, said General Manager Brigadier Abdullah Shebelle.

Suspects arrested in connection with assassination of MP Daghsan

Japanese tanker put in jeopardy from piracy operation

A Japanese tanker was subjected to piracy by Somali pirates in international waters 90 nautical miles south of al-Mukalla in the Hadramout province, said an official source from the Yemeni Coast Guard troop.
