The United Nations Population Fund signed the work plan for 2007 on Sunday with the Women’s National Committee. The plan includes gender-related activities that the WNC will implement during the rest of this year.
These activities include establishing a gender-support unit at WNC, creating auditing capacity building on a gender basis, and formulating positive media messages supporting the woman’s various roles in society.
The plan was sighed by Hans Obdeijn, UNFPA representative, and Rashida Al-Hamdani, WNC chairperson.
This work is a part of the new country program cycle 2007-2011 for Yemen, which has been approved by UNFPA Executive Board New York and was signed by Yemeni government earlier this year.
