Minister of Oil visits South Korea

Bahah visits the port at which Yemen LNG carrier ships are being produced.
The Minister of Oil arrived in Seoul, Korea to attend the YLNG board meeting in the capital on October 20th, 2007.  During his stay he visited the port at which LNG carrier ships are being produced for the Yemen LNG project.

Yemen LNG has a contract for four LNG carriers.  Two LNG carriers with a capacity of 165000 m3 are being built by Samsung for Ap-Moller and two carriers with a capacity of 157000 m3 are being built by Mitsubishi for MISC. The first LNG carrier will be ready for delivery in May 2008. Minister of Oil and Minerals Khaled Mahfoud Bahah met last Wednesday with the South Korea Minister of Commerce, Industry and Energy at the MOCIE.  During the meeting bilateral cooperation was discussed between the two ministries in the field of energy and in particular in the field of oil and gas. 

The Minister of MOCIE expressed his appreciation of Bahah’s visit to Korea and is looking forward to expanding the fruitful cooperation between the two countries.  The Yemen Minister of Oil invited the Korean Minister to visit Yemen late 2008 at the launch of the first Yemen LNG shipment of gas to Korea. 

The director of the Yemen Company for Investment in Oil and Gas along with the Managing Director of the Yemen Gas Company accompanied the Minister in his meetings in South Korea.
