Security forces arrested 15 suspects in the assassination case of MP Saleh bin Saleh Hindi Daghsan last Wednesday. Daghsan was killed Friday, April 18th in Sa’ada when he was heading to the district of al-Amar.
“Thousands of mourners of the late Sheikh Saleh bin Saleh Hindi Daghsan grieved over his unexpected and sudden death when he was ambushed and killed by unknown gunmen in the al-Khyam district of the Sa’ada governorate”, said official security source.
The sources added that Daghsan’s son and one of his escorts were also killed in the attack, and six others were injured and hospitalized in al-Salam Hospital in Sa’ada.
President Ali Abdullah Saleh and Parliament sent a condolence statement to the family of Daghsan. The governor of Sa’ada, MPs, leaders from military and security forces, social leaders and executives paid respect to the family and praised the patriotic role played by Daghsan.
Security forces immediately started an investigation and the hunt to capture the perpetrators who were behind the killing, according to General-Brigadier Mohammed Hamoud al-Qaahm, head of security forces in Sa’ada.
Daghsan died at the age of 43 and was elected for three rounds in constituency number 270 in his village of al-Ammar. He had a bachelor’s degree in Military Sciences.
Nothing has been said until now about who was behind the attack on Daghsan, but the MP was known to have supported governments efforts to subdue rebels led by Abdul-Malik Houthi in the Sa’ada governorate.
