The International Youth Forum for Cultural Exchange and Knowing Civilizations and the 17th Arab Boy Scouts meeting continue their activities, held for the first time in Yemen.
The functions’ opening was attended by the Special Forces Commander, Brigadier Ahmed Ali Abdullah Saleh. The Prime Minister Ali Mohammed Mujawar addressed the function stressing the countries progress, development and the accomplishments made by their citizens who are the ones that can make hopes into realities.
He added that the visits the participants will make to the Yemeni governorates and museums will show them the superb diversity in Yemen’s archeology as well as the pioneering contribution of our ancestors in building our past.
The Youth Minister, Hamoud Obad, said in his speech that the hosting of over 500 participants, representing 42 brotherly and friendly countries, is a subject that deserves to be widely acknowledged.
Obad pointed out that the meeting of the two groups reflects Yemen’s interest in youth and Boy Scout movements, highlighting the synchronization of the meeting with the youth summer camps all over the governorates.
The Youth and Scout general secretary, Atif Abdul-Majid, said that the fact that Yemen is hosting these functions enables the delegations to learn more about the cradle of Arab history, keeping away history from terrorism, bigotry and intolerance for the good of their country.
Abdullah Ali Obied, Forum Leader, addressed the delegates’ camp’s site and the exhibition’s opening ceremony explaining all the exhibition contents and divisions.
The delegations visited the national museum, old Sana’a and Wadi Dhahr in order to learn more about Yemen’s history and beautiful scenery.
