New government construction projects in Ibb

A meeting held last Tuesday August 5 presided over by Ahmed Abdullah al-Hajri, Governor of Ibb Governorate, including Mohammed Mansour Zamam, deputy of the Ministry of Local Administration for Development Sector, and Sameh Wahbah, head of the International Bank (IB) team, discussed the topics related to executing a number of governmental complexes as well as studying the damages from flash floods in Ibb city which is included in the extra loan from the IB.

In the meeting, the Governor welcomed the IB mission, praising the works that Native Developing Project and Taiz Protection from Streams had achieved, is the same project that carried out 6 governmental complexes in Thi Sufal, al-Odain, Jibla, al-Makhader, Yarim, and al-Sadah of Ibb Governorate. 

“These projects are an example of the developmental relationship maintend between the Yemeni Government and the IB, as the project has changed people’s lives and improved their social, living and economic conditions,” said the Governor.

The Governor asked the deputy of the Ministry of Local Administration for Development Sector to work with the Ministry of Planning and International Cooperation to set up a project for protecting Ibb city from streams, and a component for solid waste which blocks out streams and spreads general sewerage.

The deputy of the Ministry of Local Administration pointed out that the coordination with the Ministry of Planning and International Cooperation is running to study the possibility of adding the project to the coming up Qatari program with Ibb or to put it for other donors stressing the importance of preparing priority study of which counting the torrent harms in the city.

Amin Ali Al-Wurafi, Secretary General of Ibb Local Council, AbdulWahed Mohammed Salah, deputy governor, Aqil Fadel, deputy assistant for technical affairs, Ahmed Shoja Addin, Rector of Ibb University and members encharged of the executive system, also attended the meeting.
