Abdull-Rahman Motlaq, Fara al-Odain Local Council Secretary General offered his resignation to Amin al-Wurafi, Secretary General of Ibb Governorate Local Council, last week due to a conflict between him and Morshed Hamoud al-Mizhani,  Fara al-Odain Local Council  representative to the governorate over the location of a technical institute to be built in the district  by the Government.

Motlaq and almost all the district local council members along with sheikhs and General People Congress leadership in the district want it to be built in the district center in order that all can benefit from it, but al-Mizhani wants it to be built in al-Mazahin, his homeland. In this way, only few people can benefit from it, since al-Mazahin is at northeast edge of the district, at the borderline between al-Odain district Fara al-Odain. But due to al-Mizhani’s influence and the governor’s lack of understanding of the nature of the problem, he got a note from the governor to build it at his area.

Motlaq quit his post and refused to come back to it until the institute comes back to the district center. Consequently, about 25 top personalities including local council members, social personalities and General People Congress leadership in the district (Amin Mohammed Mofareh, sheikh,  Qaid Mohammed Mofareh, GPC head, Hassn al-Adofi, ex-member of the parliament, Sheik Shajea bin Shajea), and many others appealed to the Governorate on Monday to meet the  governor to point out the problem to him, so he might reconsider his command and bring back the institute to the center of the district.

During the open meeting that the Governor has recently adopted to come close to the subjects, listen to their problems and needs and solve them, Judge al-Hajri, called on Fara al-Odain natives. They all went to him, stood in front of his platform and chorally spoke describing the problem. It was strange but it attracted the attention of the governor who listened to them and after understanding, he issued his command concerning the institute to be built in the center of the district.
