Supreme National Authority for Combating Corruption (SNACC) is launching an awareness plan to build participatory links with the civil society organizations.
Izadin al-Asbahi, SNACC's civil organization's sector manager, ensured the youth's role in support, transparency and integrity and pointing out that they are the corner stone in the country's democratic building process.
This came in an address to 300 youth a summer camp organized by SNACC in Lahj. He ensured the youth's role and called for coordination of efforts between different bodies because corruption fighting is a community responsibility.
He called for youth for coordination in efforts between different bodies, disclosing that their future plans include a program for bridging the gap with different sectors particularly the youth to strengthen SNACC's civil societies sector's role .
Al-Asbahi said that Yemen was pioneer in the international efforts which resulted in signing the international UN corruption fighting agreement, as it is one of the five countries which prepared the first stages of the agreement. In 2005 the Yemeni parliament approved the treaty and put the finishing touch to these efforts.
The SNACC civil societies sector manager, said that issuing of anti corruption law number 39 for 2006 , which was topped by the formation of Supreme National Authority for combating corruption 'SNACC', offered the authority its independence and, neutrality. The free parliamentary election of the authority members secured seriousness of wide partnership with the civil societies as realized in the private, and woman sectors He added that the democratic formation through the representation of the other sectors, and the parliament choice is an advanced step which should be maintained and applied to other national facilities to ensure the effective community participation.
Al-Asbahi said that the youth corruption combat's role is decisive, urging them to take practical steps at their integrity and transparency school and university's associations in order to contribute to forming a feasible impartial community culture.
