The governor of Hodeidah discussed on Wednesday the problem of African refugees attempting to cross the Red Sea with the Commander of French Forces in Djibouti.
He pointed to the importance of solving the Somali problem to decrease the number of Somali refugees trying to cross to Yemen.
For his part, the French commander affirmed the increase of Somalis refugees severely impedes development and progress in the region, and he is reviewing the role of the UN in dealing with the Somali problem.
He added the EU is currently studying the file on the Somali crisis and ways of stopping the continued exodus of refugees to the Yemeni coast.
