YEMEN - The search and rescue teams in Moroni, Capital of Comoros, has reported from Tanzanian authorities on appearing more two bodies from the Yemeni crashed plane on the coasts of Mafia Island.
The Tanzanian authorities also reported on finding food carts utilized in the ill-fated Yemenia airliner in a Tanzanian island and that the research and rescue operations are still ongoing, stated a press release issued by the Committee on Monitoring Civil Aviation Accidents today.
A joint diver group is diving in a site, where a diver has been reported previously on observing the plane's body. The committee will be informed about the results of the diving operations later, according to the press release.
With these two bodies the number of the recovered bodies of the Yemenia plane raises to 18.
It also announced last Wednesday that the Tanzanian authorities found debris from the Yemeni crashed airliner off the Tanzanian coasts among them the plane's tail, a chair and other pieces showing the year of manufacturing, 1990.
On the other hand, a meeting was held late on Thursday in the Tanzanian capital, Dar Es Salaam between all parties involved in the operations and agreed on forming an operation room in Dar Es Salaam to follow up search efforts and subsequent arrangements.
The team discussed the required procedures that should be taken before transporting the bodies, including conducting DNA tests and issuing death certificates.
A Yemenia flight, IY 626, from Sana'a to Moroni crashed into the Indian Ocean off the Comorian coasts on Tuesday, June 30th, with 152 people including a crew of 11 aboard. Only a French teenager girl has survived the disaster.
Search for the two black boxes is continuing with recent reports saying signals from the boxes were detected and they could be retrieved soon.
