YEMEN- Conflict erupted today between a group of al-Houthi rebels and Saudi border security guards, resulting in several deaths and injuries on both sides, at the area of Smoke Mountain.

Trying to illegally enter Saudi Arabia, al-Houthi rebels were caught, and conflict broke out between them and Saudi border guards.

Al-Houthi rebels have, on several occasions, accused Saudi government forces of participating in the war with the Yemeni army. Both the Yemen government and the KSA deny.

Analysts and media observers said that the al-Houthi rebels are trying to attract regional forces into the war. Media observers think that the rebels are attempting to regionalize the war because they are in their last days after being defeated on many fronts. The attack against the Saudi border guards came after the rebels failed in their media campaign to get regional forces like Saudi Arabia and other countries into the war.

Al-Houthi rebels have damaged relations between Yemen and Saudi Arabia. By blocking access roads and destroying Saudi Arabia governmental property, al-Houthi members are causing strains on Yemen's domestic and border security.
