MTN celebrates second winner of 2010 World Cup ticket

On Sunday, the MTN Cellular Phone Company celebrated with the second winner of their nationwide contest for a trip to the 2010 World Cup. In the celebration, MTN presented the winner with his ticket for the World Cup 2010 Finals in South Africa. The first ticket was awarded to Saleh Thabit al-Yezidi from the Abyan Governorate.

In addition to the tickets to the Cup Finals, the fortunate recipient also received a 32” flat screen Sony Bravia TV.

The ticket package includes the cost of accommodations, as well as a tour package for some of the major sights in South Africa. Furthermore, several tickets for preliminary matches to the World Cup are also included. The World Cup is anticipated to be the largest sporting event of 2010.

To enter, subscribers select correct answers for a sports questions provided by MTN, and text them via the number 2010, in order to enter into a weekly drawing.

MTN Public Relations Manager Ali al-Shahithi gave a speech for the occasion, in which he congratulated the winners. In his comments, al Shahithi emphasized the importance of promoting youth recreation and sports within the community.

MTN is the main Yemeni sponsor of the 2010 World Cup.
