Lahj threatened by armed gangs

YEMEN - A member of a gang that kidnapped a truck last Monday was killed and others were injured by the hands of the security campaign assigned to free the truck.
 
This came in an announcement from a local official in the military who said that the truck and its driver were freed.
 
The armed group in the area of Habail Jabr kidnapped a truck and its driver, demanding YR700,000 in ransom for the driver, and threatened killing him in the event of non-delivery of the ransom.
 
In another development, armed groups led by Taher Termah and Ali Said al-Abdali, who killed three al-Kobita citizens last year, have ordered the close down of a number of the trade stores in Lahj town belonging to citizens from the northern area, threatening to kill them.
 
The sources said that the armed men have also attacked the citizens, workshops trade stores owners.
