Yemen and gulf countries celebrate Consumer Day

The Director General of the Yemen Standardization, Metrology and Quality Control Organization, Ahmed Ahmed al-Besha, recently released a press statement to the Saba News Agency, describing how the organization will hold a workshop and consultative meeting in Taiz governorate on Wednesday, entitled “Consultative Meeting of Standards and Specifications for a Leading National Industry.” 

He noted that it would be attended by the local leadership of Taiz governorate, the leadership of the Chamber of Commerce and Industry, representatives from the Taiz University, the Consumer Protection Association, Preservation of the Environment Association, in addition to a number of government agencies, commercial and industrial sectors in the governorate.  

He confirmed that this symposium would address topics related to the activation of community partnership within the private sector, the support of local products and consumer protection. Furthermore, the meeting will seek to strengthen the development of sustainable relations with other relevant agencies in order to create an interactive environment between the Yemen Standardization, Metrology and Quality Control Organization, YSMO and other consumers and producers.
