Tourism re-activated

Ten yachts arrived at al-Mukalla port on Monday with multi-tourists on board while a Vasco Da Gama rally arrived safely in Aden with 15 yachts carrying 70 multi-national tourists. The general director of al-Tawahi city welcomed the rally in an official reception.
 
Al-Twahi Local council provided all the facilities and services that contributed to the service of tourists in addition to organizing programs for the visits of archaeological sites and historic landmarks of Aden city.
 
The head of the rally expressed his appreciation to the hospitality of Aden’s officials, saying it is the seventh visit by the rally to Aden as being the world’ gate. The Vasco Da Gama rally started from Turkey then Oman, Aden, Hadramout, and will end in India in a six-month voyage. During the ceremony, there was an exchange of souvenirs between the head of the tourist group and the members of Aden’s Local Council.
 
Another 14 yachts arrived in Aden port on Sunday with 70 multi-tourists in board. Twenty-seven yachts also arrived in Aden port in the last week, carrying as many as 150 on board who are still in Yemen visiting tourist places around Yemen, said the Director of Aden seaport, Colonel Hamoud Mohammad al-Matari.
 
In late February, Costa Europe ship arrived at Aden port with 1334 multi-national tourists on board.
 
A number of the tourists made a journey to Taiz Governorate visiting relics of Taiz city such as al-Ashrafiah and al-Qahera castle, one of Taiz tourist attractions.
 
Other tourists paid a visit inside Aden city, where Aden Museum and the Reservoirs were the main tourists destination.
 
Aden officials had prepared a visit program for the tourists, taking them to Aden landmarks such as, al-Manarah, and the City Gate.
 
An Aden hotel manager said that this wave of tourists did not happen before “at least for the past five years.”
 
After the tourists visit to Aden, as an Aden source talked to 26 Sep, they are going around different places in Yemen.
 
On February 16th, an Italian tourist ship made its first visit to Aden port with 2155 tourists on board. Each group of tourists made its special destination around Yemen.
 
Aden Port had received more than 9,756 multi-tourists in addition to 142 Yachts with 852 European tourists on board.
 
Yemen had received 411,000 multi-tourists during 2009, according to official statistics by the Immigration and Passport Authority.
