Last February, over 4000 tourists visited Yemen utilizing the land fleet of the Yemeni International Mass Transportation Company (YIMTC), a key partner of the tourism industry since its establishment in 1996. The YIMTC was the first private mass land transportation in Yemen, and remains the larges land transportation firm in the country because of their commitment to professionalism and excellence.
At the forefront of the tourism arena The Yemeni International Mass Transportation Company, a subsidiary of al-Rowaishan Trade, Industry and Services Group, facilitates the travel of foreigners throughout several key Yemeni cities. The company takes all groups to the most important tourist attractions and archaeological sites. YIMTC is the top ranked tourist firm within Yemen.
Mohammed al-Khazraji, the company’s General Director, said, “Through the facilitation of tourists groups within Yemen, we hope to create a vibrant image of our country. We attempt to support the tourism sector, while remaining the key partner in tourism industry in our country.”
Abdul Kareem al-Hatimi, the company’s Marketing Director, said that the YIMTC is the leading Yemeni Company capable of meeting the requirements of foreign international companies requests. Most companies in Yemen are designed for small adventure seeking groups. However, YIMTC, with their large transportation fleet, characterized by giant safety features and extreme comfort, is capable of catering to large international demands.
Al-Khazraji, the General Director, added, “The Company once had to provided 40 buses to enable the transfer of more then 2,000 tourists between Aden and Taiz in a single day during February. We accomplished this feat without affecting the other regularly scheduled internal trips Al-Hatimi pointed out that the YIMTC has close links with several well-known international firms, such as the International Company for Tourism and al-Hashimi Company, two pioneers in the tourism industry. The YIMTC has also continuously developed their continuous cooperation with the Tourism Ministry to the benefit of the company and the customer. The General Director confidently explained that the company has become a key link between all the Yemeni governorates around the clock. In addition, the YIMTC has continued to develop Yemeni ties with other Gulf Cooperative Council’s countries.
The company has not excluded their services exclusively to foreigners though. “Our company will play a major role in the grand football event for the Gulf Cup of Nations 2010. We will transfer our Yemeni guests,” al-Hatimi said with pride.
Al-Hatimi stressed that the company continues to pursue their ambitions for development within the sector in order to achieve the highest quality of service. He added that the company is currently seeking to develop a series of unique tourist shows created with the smaller communities that the groups pass by. In order to have the benefits of an increased tourism sector reach all members of Yemeni society, the villages must be able to provide a service in order to encourage the groups to stop and explore the smaller communities as they travel. The company has been an active and distinctive contributor within the provision of communal services, through their support and sponsorship activities.
