Security director escapes assassination

The Security Director of al-Dhale' province,Ghazi Ahmed Ali, hardly escaped an assassination attempt by Southern Movement elements on Tuesday 18th.

Security guards of the Security Director of al-Dhale’ exchanged fire with attackers. One of the gunmen, Muhsen al-Twaiti, fired two shots at the car of the Security Director. "The security guards opened fire on them and wounded one of them," Mohammed al-Sharabi, an official in al-Dhale' Security Administration, told Yemen Observer.

"The attack occurred in the highway. The security was not harmed in the attack. They are from the so-called Southern Movement," added al-Sharabi. "The one who is arrested is now in a hospital in the capital to be treated and interrogated. The second one just ran away on a motorcycle. But tracking operations still continuing and will not stop until he is arrested," said al-Sharabi.
