President Saleh meets his Palestinian counterpart

President Ali Abdullah Saleh met on Thursday with the Palestinian President Mahmoud Abbas that is in a one-day visit to Yemen.
 
The two presidents discussed during the meeting the latest developments of the Palestinian issue and the situation in the Palestinian territories on the eve of the resumption of direct negotiations with Israel on the second of September in Washington.
 
Palestinian President visited Yemen for consultations with President Saleh on the latest developments on the Palestinian arena. Abbas made clear in a statement to the Saba news agency that the consultations will cover the latest developments on the Palestinian arena especially with regard to the subject of direct negotiations with Israel, which will be launched next week.
